Default How to tell if my turbo has blown seals?

Anyone know any tell tale signs of blowing your turbo seals? On a TD05-18G. Thanks in advance.

have you noticed any oily residue in either your inlet of the compressor, or the turbine discharge?

I've always had black smoke comming out the exhaust. . . but always attributed it to the heinous tunning job and my running soo rich. I'll pull the charge pipe off and check, I am seeing traces of oil in my BOV.
