Default How to stop mild steel from oxidizing?

How do I stop my mild steel downpipe and dumptube from rusting? they arent even on the car yet, they r waiting to be installed at my friends shop and they are already rusting. Is there anything I can do? If there is...now is the time to do it since there not on the car yet...

I powder-coated my ic pipes...but they dont get that hot...

High temp rustoleum grill paint is your friend. It smells like nasty *** for a little bit, but it will keep the downpipe from rusting. After the downpipe heats up a couple of times it will look like the paint is all burned off, but the pipe will not rust anymore.

2" make sure you use plenty of water this way you can wrap it really tight and get it to look good!

well i searched a bit about heat wrap...and it seems that it might actually make it corrode and rust a bit faster due to the fact that it will keep all the moisture inside of the DP...now i dont know what to do

Well you can sand it down and spray it with high temp paint then wrap it and spray the wrap with high temp silicone spray to seal it all up.
