hey,

question for the guys that are using the nippon denso vitaras, how much hp are you making?

i'v had bad experience while tuning an engine with Nippons, but i cant blame myself , it was a poorly built engine,

Avoid nippons, go with ycp

My buddy and I built our motors side by side. Me- ycp, him-nippons... He's going to the dyno on a gt30 mid-Feb so ill post u on that but fyi, his motor has same clearances.0038 and his Nippons are much noisier

Just got off the phone with the buddy I speak of. He's street tuned the car himself to 23-25psi and is going to a $100 FWD dyno session special on Thursday at a local shop so ill get the numbers to you then. Then again in mid-February when he's on a dyno tune on s300.

Man, i'm on the fence on tuning this car or not, will these nippon denso pistons take 250 on a mustang?

Nippons can hold 250whp for sure buddy as long as it was properly put together. My buddy is shooting for 330whp on Nippons Thursday on a mustang

Just got the word from him. 317whp @ 22.5psi on a .57trim Godspeed turbo on eagle/nippon d16. This on a mustang dyno. So about 339whp on a dynojet. Not bad for a stock head.

Pretty good power. How much torque did he make ?

I'm going to stop by his house after work to see the power curve. I'm curious as hell because we built these motors side by side in my garage just I'm running ycp vitaras and a built head/ BC stg 2 cam running exact specs and turbo. Doing a Nippon/ycp build comparison noise wise and how long they stay together but I'm waiting for a dyno tune next week vs his street tune.

You guys think the torque is a little low?

I wouldn't know . I mean viteras are super low compression . But from what I've read is that single cams should make better torque then a b series at 300whp . I can be wrong

Gotcha.. I have a 10.5:1 c/r d16 @ 426whp but it took race gas to get there. I'm just wondering if I can expect that percentage difference hp to TQ that his produced out of my vitara with a built head because if that's the case in dropping the tank and going e85.

Also, I hope these results helped the op gain confidence in the Nippons.
