I'm very disappointed with my results. I have a b18c1 turboed in a civic coupe and it put down only 194.4 hp and 172.7 tq at 7 psi with the exhaust and 214 hp and 185 tq without it. Its a custom kit with a t3/t4, deltagate, holley in tank pump, adjustable fmu, spearco intercooler, profec b controller, type r intake cam, and greddy pe exhaust. Most likely in the very near future I will be getting a 3 inch thermal, S-AFC, skunk 2 manifold, and some new injectors (probably rc 370's). Anyone with a similar setup, please let me know how much power you made. I feel this should be making a lot more power than it is. By the way, the new items should help quite a bit, right?

i'm not sure about a gsr, but my b18b in my hatch, made 255 hp and 210 lbs of torque at the wheels with a full 3.00 exhaust and stock injectors. that is a custom kit as well with a xs turbo, tial wastegate, xs intercooler, vortech fmu, msd intank pump, bosch fpr, apex bov, 2.5 i/c piping. not exactly what you're asking for but, just to give you an idea. gsr's should make a lot more than this

oh yeah, that was at 7 psi as well and i think a tial wastegate would be a lot better than a deltagate.

at 7psi /w a stock gsr motor through a greddy pe exhaust I made 265whp & 198 ft lbs... I have seen several other people with drag kits making similar #'s so I dont think mine was a fluke... either something is wrong with your setup or your turbo may be too small... do you know the specs on your turbo?

Something doesn't sound right here. Those #'s sound like 10-11psi.

How many miles are on the motor? Basically, what kinda shape is the motor in? What kinda compression are you getting out of it?

side note- you're gonna want a v-afc, not s-afc

I made 266.5 whp and 190ft/lbs at 7psi. I just have a Rev-hard kit with stock motor and 70k miles. Ive seen other cars with stock bottom end put down more whp but usually around the same as mine.
Forgot to mention I have a apex n1 2.5" exhaust with a flex pipe. Just waiting for the Downpipe to be made and getting a 3" thermal.
I think the problem may be your turbo. What are the specs on it?

I havent dynoed my car but I ran 11.90@117 on a stock GSR motor at 11psi on pump gas. My car weighs 2495 with me in it. I would guesstimate hp in the 330-350range.

If I put a DRAG-III turbo kit on my car and ran it at 6psi I woudn't blow my motor right with the right timing done, colder spark plugs, Fuel pressure set right?

i have the dyno sheet to show you that my car did pump those #'s. but i don't know how to upload the dyno sheet. the sheet says 6 psi but it was between 6-7 psi. as far as mileage goes, the motor has about 90k miles on it (estimate). i haven't done a compression check. i'm doing one tomorrow (fri) when i buy the compression tester and my motor pumped out 127 hp stock. that is completely stock with the exception of an extrude honed intake manifold, balanced stock injectors, injen intake and tanabe exhaust. no header or anything else. (i have a dyno sheet of that as well)

The engine is in good shape. It has only 55k miles on it and I had a compression test done and got 175 across the board. I'm not exactly sure of the specs of the turbo as I bought it from a friend. One interesting note, it reached peak hp at about 6200 rpm and then lost power. That seems low for a vtec engine, no?

175 seems kinda low for compression. i wouldnt run over 7psi

perhaps your turbo is too small... I am looking at my original 7 psi dyno and it looks like I made peak hp at 7600 rpm, that is when they shut it off... the power just goes up, no drop off on hp... my torque peak was at 6000, it does drop after that

Actually you can do the exact opposite. Isn't stock compression supposed to be up around 220? If your current compression is 175 across the board you can actaully run higher boost levels. That might be one of the reasons hp was so low. You need to turn up the boost if you have lower compression. Why is your compression so low, do you have a thicker head gasket or different pistons???

Have you ran the car at the track? What is your 1/4 mile times look like?

He would have low compression because maybe his rings are bad. that dont mean you can turn up the boost, it means you need to get new rings

Your right... if you have bad rings DO NOT TURN UP THE BOOST. That is why I asked him if he has a thicker head gasket, pistons, etc.

I don't have pistons, etc. Head gasket is stock along with all internals.

175 is telling you that a rebuild is in the near future. My GSR with 53K has 200-210 across the board. My guess is that if the motor can't seal when you're doing the compression test, it's Really not sealing when you are boosting (blowby). I'd get some pistons/rings asap. HTH, -C

That would suck to have a turbo and run mid 14's in a gsr.
