how much whp can a 3" exhaust support with a separately vented wastegate?
Like the title says, just trying to figure out how much hp a 3" exhaust can efficiently support with an externally vented wastegate (aka "dumptube", whatever, bypassed exhaust not going back into the same pipe).
I realize this is turbo/backpress/etc dependent, let's just say for the sake of simplicity the typical gt35r with the .82 housing. I'm betting that a 3" exhaust would be more than sufficient for the typical 600whp setup with a separately exhausted gate..
Anyone have any info you'd like to share?

the last car w/a gt35r i tuned made 510hp at 19ish psi on pump gas...
so yeah, you can make 5-600hp through a 3inch exh.. but its turbo so bigger is always better

592whp @ 21 psi on the 3582r that you are talking about. full 3" exhaust. would have done more but ran out of fuel. that was race gas. pump was 496whp @ 18psi.

I know there are plenty of people out there that make 700+whp on 3" Exhaust's, I run a full 3" but will probably go 4" one day in the future..... cant see any negative affects only positive ones.

Re: (96 GSR-T)
I made 720whp on a GT35r on my DSM through a 3" exhaust. 33psi falling to 31psi.
This is a FWD DSM, with a very restrictive exhaust. Over 600 degrees worth of bends, 6 x 90's and 2 x 45's.

How?? With 100 shot of spray? I thought the gt35r's compressor pretty much topped out at around 630whp or so, and that's on a honda..
