How much shot of N.O.S. can my GSR take?
First off I am not doing this because of F & F ( even though it was cool). There is a really good deal on a whole kit with the plate for my motor. Its in classifieds if you want to see. It has jets portable from 75- 200. I have a 94 GSR with 105K miles on it, but its runs strong, has no loss of compression and does not leak. I just want it for now so I would keep it at 75. and remember I will not be spraying every day or even every week. How much can it take?

75 is probably safe. I've heard of people using 100+ with no problems...
I'm waiting for my 55 shot. I guess I would need money first..

yes, it can probably handle it, get the plugs the reccomend, use high octane gas, and upgrade your fuel system if you want to be even safer. But get a compression test first, only reason I havent gottn n2 is because of the legal crap, not being able to use it on the street under apparent penalty of arrest. GOD why is it illegal in MD

jake, llsten to GSWwBoost b/c he had the same set up as you were looking at and had lots of luck with it if i recall correctly. Also make sure you get an upgraded fuel pump. I will tell you where, just remeber to call me. Lates.

upgrade the pump,up the cc's on the injectors
maybe do a fifth injector setup....wire it w/ the jets(so it dumps at the same time ya drop the bomb!)
you should be ably to run 100 if ya do it right
for what 500.00 you can make some mistakes and still be ok money wise(i am thinking turbo's are 3500.00)

Re: How much shot of N.O.S. can my GSR take? (4dGSR at work)
You dont need any additional injector's. If I remember correctly the plate system spray's add. fuel and the N20. If not then maybe consider new 310 cc injector's from RC or the like. At a 75 shot NOS provide's the needed fuuel enrichment. The only additional part's I would reccomend for a 75 shot is 7 or 8 heat range plug's and retarding the Timing to 12-14 Degrees BTDC. And about not using it every week yeah right, when it work's right it is wonderful and addictive and no matter how much self control you have there is gonna be that one Z/28 or Mustang Cobra that laugh's at you. Good luck if you buy it and make sure you have an experianced person install it and double check everything.

Good stuff.
The Plate kit you are looking at is a "wet" kit.
This means it uses a solenoid for fuel and one for nitrous and both are added when you spray. The amount of HP or the "shot" is determined by changing the jets or nozzles from the solenoids.
For example, the minimum you can shoot with this particular kit is 75 HP (approx to the WHEELS!) with the provided jets. If you use a bigger nitrous jet and the same fuel jet, you would get a bigger shot. There is a chart to work out all the settings.
The other type of kit is "dry" meaning there is only one solenoid that sprays nitrous. Extra fuel is adding by raising fuel pressure or something when you squeeze. Obviously, this limits the amt you can shoot, but it's generally easier to setup.
I think a general rule would be that a dry shot is ok upto about 50, but for more than that you want a wet kit. Something like that.
BTW, this is a direct port kit, meaning the nitrous and fuel are sprayed into the manifold. There are also "fogger" kits where the nitrous and fuel are sprayed somewhere upstream of the TB. The problem with foggers is that you are relying on the stock "distribution" to place nitrous into each cylinder. For example, one cylinder will tend to get more than the others. A direct port kit can have better distribution, but is more of pita to install. The plate kit just sandwiches a plate in the manifold with spray bars mounted to simplify this...
I ran 270 CC injectors when I was running the kit, but it's probably overkill. GSRWBOOST ran stock injectors I believe.
Take care,

how nessesary is it to have headers and exhaust with NOS?
i would run the plate kit if I did...
i would most likely get headers, but is an exhaust worth it? I have sleeper and would like it to remain that way if possible.

When you retard the timimng, and mess w/ the injectors, how much does this effect everyday driving off the bottle?

Re: How much shot of N.O.S. can my GSR take? (berkel)
How about a 50-70 shot on a b16a. Would a dry kit be suffice, stock injectors, stock fuel pump, and only a fuel pressure regulator and colder plugs? Also does running a mugen p28 help at all in the fuel department?

Re: How much shot of N.O.S. can my GSR take? (2fastGSR)
NOS did a test on 2 bone stock GSR's. They used a sportman directport fogger system jetted to 125 shot(which is a true 100 shot to the wheels). Andy, at NOS, said they both lasted 15 runs each then grenaded.
My stock Accord motor handled 136 shot of NOS and pulled a 12.71@109.89MPH. My motor had about 55k miles on it.
so I hope I answered your question.
