How much power to expect from a 3 inch exhaust...
at the moment i have a 2.5 inch downpipe, and a 2.5 inch cat, i was thinking about replacing my current exhaust (2.5 piping mated to a mugen twin loop) with a full 3 inch cat back +hks canister muffler. how much power should i expect, and would i build boost quicker, or more? thanks

if i were you i would just keep the exhaust that you have currently and then get an exhaust cutout. which allows you to run open downpipe all at the flip of a switch

believe me i want to, but im just afraid that when the cutout isnt open and its been tuned, its not gonna run as good. and living in cali its gonna be hard to find a shop that would do it, or not getting caught with it. but im still thinking about it though.

how much WHP are you pushing? if it's below 250 all you have to deal with is more noise.....spool up might be alot quicker by 500rpm, but your driving it everyday. and hey you live in southern cali...especially OC....and i know how the police are....not too friendly to the fast and furious crowd......

im hoping to hit 300. dont plan to make more even if i wanted to. yea living in OC doesnt help either. although my car isnt really a ricey type, it still turns heads.... especially with the big *** FMIC, and BOV.

300whp u definitly want a 3". Arturbo gained 11whp by switching from a 2.5" dp/exhaust to a full 3" at just 8psi on his revhard gsr back in the day.

wow... ok now i either have to decide whether to ditch my mugen TL that i love so much, or get a cutout...
