stock ign is hit or miss.. sometimes they will hardly make 300, other times 500+ comes w/o an issue. just be prepaired to gap the plugs way down.

dont mean to highjack though i think this relates...
what steps would you take in upgrading the ignition setup for a boosted setup?
like X amount of horsepower = recommend doing this
then xx amount of horsepower = recommend doing this
and so on
or would you suggest something totally different.
it just seems as though so many of my mates who go the boosted path have so many problems with the standard honda ignition system.... any particular reason for this? any common solutions.

I have always read that stock is best. Your friends may be having a problem due to the spark plug gap, the spark could be getting blown out with all of teh boost - they may need a tighter gap. It's obviously hard to speculate since we have no facts, but even pro drag racers run stock ignition a lot of the time....

Just becuase you can make that amount of power on stock ignition doesnt mean its gonna last and be reliable...for a few...they get lucky..for most...u end up changing rotors, ignitors and caps like their going out of style!
