How much does a turbo kit cost to install at a local tuner shop?

How much does a turbo kit cost to install, considering you already have everything needed for the install? Just the labor. Please share your personal experiences if you have installed your own turbo kit yourself.

Thanks guys! https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif

there's these things called telephones.. you use em to call places and ask prices. i suggest investing in one of those.

Haha, I already have a telephone, cellphone, internet, fax machine,etc... This is a forum, and it is made for discussing a wide variety of different topics. If everyone picked up a phone and called someone everytime they had a question, there would be no Honda-Tech... Any lazy bum can pick up a phone when they have a question, but this is the best place to get the best answers to the most commonly and uncommonly asked questions. If you don't wish to discuss anything and all you have is negative, ignorant comments...then go esle where. DON'T BE A D*!K, D#*K! https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emthdown.gif https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emthdown.gif https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emthdown.gif

I disagree. Email and forums are known to be places to ask for prices when you lack the wherewithal.

If you were serious about buying you'd call a few shops and get some quotes.

You can RESEARCH the kit and the shops on the web, but for pricing, just call.

5-900 usually. Some like to be fair some like to rip you off. IF you have vice grips you can do the whole thing yourself for under $8

My friends installed a drag turbo kit on my friends SI in like 3 hours...only thing that might take a while is getting the oil bung installed in your oil pan...everything else is just bolt on. this IS if you are installing a turbo KIT

having a shop install your turbo kit is throwing away a thousand dollars. i installed my motor, turbo setup, avles, and shift linkage all in 3-4 days. a turbo kit could be done in a day if u have everything easily. but shops around here in MI charge around $400

Install it yourself.... you will be much more happy... you will know where everypart of the system is, when something goes wrong you will have a better chance to figure out what is wrong and you will save yourself some serious $$$.

And when peple ask you "where did you get all that shit done?" you can say... I did that shit myself bitch. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

I plan on installing mine myself, but do you think that after i install it and get it taken somewhere where I'm going to get it dynoed and tuned they would inspect it before hand to make sure I didn't screw anything up for free?

PrettyLude 12-07-2004 10:11 AM

its not that hard if you have general knowledge, but normal shops charge around 500 to 900 just for install

Yeah, you're right man...i'm thinking about doing the install myself. I'm just getting some ideas and some different suggestions, it always helps when you get other people's inputs. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

I installed my own turbo kit with a friend. I'd suggest you do it yourself and use that money towards tuning/fuel management or pistons/rods etc. It took about 3 solid days because of time constraints and unforseen events. If you lived around my way and decided to let someone install it I could've helped you out for a small fee https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif

Depends on the fabrication needed.

I paid:

$200 Installation
$200 Charge Pipe Fabrication
$150 Down Pipe Fabrication
$100 Street Tuning

through A/V Engineering. Contact PrecisionH23a on here for more info.

But don't go expecting to get these prices from an actual shop. They'll be WAY higher.

Just install it yourself. Its very easy except for any fabricating you need to do.

It's to grab your senses of humor out of the trash and re-install them. If you guys buy one pair and share them it would only be $4 each.

the only thing you could fuck up with installing a turbo kit is not tightening the clamps tight enough and not tapping the oil pan perfectly. other than that theres nothing they could check for.
i know what your saying though. after i installed my motor i took it to a shop to look over all the hoses and plugs before i started her up. and ya they looked at it for free.
