How much boost can a stock fuel pump handle?
Hallo,
i have a problem with my fuel supply and i'am not sure if it is the additional fuel pump. So my plan was to put the second pump out of the car and so a testdrive with the stock pump only.
now my question, whats the hp/boost/volume limit of the stock fuelpump
of a 91' CRX EE8 B16A1 Engine???
currently i have 280ccm Injectors installed, Fuelpressure is stock and run 8psi of boost.
Greets
Malte.

They can handle 60psi, stock...oh, wait...they don't see boost
It doesn't depend on how much boost you run, but on how much power you are making (ie. two 1.6l engines (like my d16z6 and your b16) can run 10psi and yours will require MUCH more fuel, since it will be making more power.
I would run the stock pump, or juts get a 140lph or 190lph, or whatever the smallest 'performance' pump you can find, since our stockers only flow 70-90lph (or so I've been told) which works out to 375cc/min*4 injectors. So, your injectors are the limiting factor...I probably wouldn't run 8psi on those, personally. 450cc DSM injectors can be had all day long for $50-70 a set.
Wait, I think I don't understand your question, now...you have only larger injectors, TWO pumps and stock fuel pressure? Do you have some kind of fuel controller?

Re: How much boost can a stock fuel pump handle? (ion_four)
oh ... please read my question again, everyting is fine, i have a good tuned standalone ECU with 280ccm injectors. From the former setup the second fuel pump was allready installed, so i leave it installed because it can't be bad.
my only question is, if my setup is tuned good so the injectors give the engine the amount of fuel he needs for 8psi of boost is the stock fuel pump able to hold the stock fuel pressure or do i need the second one in any way for 8psi, thats my only question and it has nothing to to with tuning, or my injectors...
the 280ccm injectors are more then i need, at the moment they run at 65% DC at 8000rpm so i think its far far in the limit. And as you can read from my profile i come from germany and here in germany you pay easily 150 UDS for ONE 550ccm Injector... only to give you a idea of the prices here and the reason i run 280ccm prelude injectors ;-)

Re: How much boost can a stock fuel pump handle? (mrx)
Hi,
sorry for that, but i think my question is answerd... i take a look in the honda service manual and it says that the stock fuel pump made 82 LPH so it is good enough for 345ccm injectors.. so i should run 8psi with the stock fuel pump
Thanks to all.
