how much Boost?
ok my question is how much boost can a stock y8 head safly take? built bottom end but the head is stock? 8:5:1 compression
|
i would say a stock head could take 200psi no problem

man you always beat me to it.
ok its like this. it isnt the head that handles boost, its the revs the valvetrain can handle. 200 psi or 2 psi, if you are revin the hell out of it, thats where it fails. |

Re: (Schister66)
at 1 psi the motor will implode, the earths surface catches fire, and all girafes begin eating mankind. seriously.

Re: how much Boost? (Straight_jdm)
well you really want high compression in conjunction with a turbo. 8.5:1 is much too low, i'd say go 20:1 and you could boost to about 48 psi no problem. look at the big rigs!
