HOW TO: Mount a JRC FMIC on a Civic
Well I was trying to put my Johny Race Car 5" intercooler onto my 95 Civic EX and I noticed that the tabs that come with it are facing the wrong way to mount it, so I decided to do a little write up on how I fixed that.
Couple things before I start, when cutting ALWAYS use saftey glasses (and not sun glasses) it should be a no brainer but people seem to think they are 2f2f to use saftey glasses so ill just throw that in there for the Fabio's out there, and use loctite on all your nuts and bolts, the ones you get at the hardware store are not ment to be used on a car so they can vibrate off.
Tools:
Power Drill
Metal drill Bits
Vise
Dremel Tool or Bench Grinder with cutoff disk
Wrench with socket
Parts:
FMIC
Iron Angle (got mine at Ace Hardware)
8 Nuts and 8 Bolts
So here is my iron angle:
The thing was like 8 feet tall so I oviously had to cut it down a bit, I used my bench grinder with a cutoff disk and cut it so that it was about 2 inches long.
Then clamp it up on the vice and start drilling holes for your screws, make sure you use the right bit so that they can slide in, but not big enough so it can wiggle around in there. Doesn't really care where you drill them, I put two on each side of it off center of eachother, its really up to you:
After you do that mark the holes on the FMIC:
Then Drill:
Then bolt it up to make sure it all fits:
Put it up against your bumper support and then mark and drill those holes too, then bolt that up too:
And there you go, all done
Make sure you center your FMIC on the bumper, I thought I did but it came off a little off center. But all in all I cant get the thing to budge an inch, so its not going anywhere soon. If you paint your FMIC like I did, I would wait a little bit longer than I did (did this like 3 hours after I put paint on it  ) cause some paint scratched off, so now I have to back over it.
Any questions or feedback post it up

Re: HOW TO: Mount a JRC FMIC on a Civic (TurboDaveR)
sweet write up man. i installed my jrc 5 inch on my 93 ex a few weeks ago. i wound up just using small L brackets drilled with self tapping screws into the bottom of the bumper support, and then put through the tabs on the ic. with the intercooler pipes on, it wont move, but its ghetto. my **** came out crooked ( leans to the drivers side about 1/2 inch, but thats my stupid fault. i painted my intercooler pipes flat black like your ic. i love that color. did u try to fit your bumper yet?? i had to cut a fair amount out of my bumper. basically i had to cut out all the **** in the 2 small holes so the pipe comming out of the endtanks could fit, and i had to trim back at least half of the **** thats in the middle hole.

Good write up but you guys dont need to go through all that trouble.
If you hold the IC up there is a small hole above each end pipe. I just ran a strong ZIP tie thorough there to hold the IC on.

Thanks everybody
mine was held up by zip ties to cut the charge pipes, but it whiggled around, and the ties were bound to cut themselves off sooner or later.
I cut out the two side fins on my bumper for the charge pipe and I think im going to have to cut up the main one too. Ill take some pics when I get the bumper mounted.

Flexmyrex Nice install. mine looks just like that except I had to remove my foglights and hack that area up on the inside for my charge piping to fit.
JRC just had a sale on their IC's too... I got my 5" for $175 shipped
