How many of you guys w/turbos actually use adjustable cam gears?
I only ask because I'm getting my whole motor built and I'm tryin to save money (the guy doing the rebuild recommended that i do get them).....So should I just spend the extra and get them or is it a waste of money???

I've got them...but they are both at ZERO. I'm lazy also. I need to get my car on the dyno.

So how do you adjust your timing or do you leave it stock?

I had them with my 8psi JRSC setup. The only reason I had them is because I had done a couple of all-motor buildups before that and was too lazy to take them off. I got some small gains by using them with the JRSC. They were more of a luxury with the JRSC. With all-motor cams like the ITR and Toda cams that I ran, they were practically mandatory.

Setup posted below.... I would never consider getting cams for these reaons..
1. Although rare, since they are adjustable they CAN slip on you and fug up ****.
2. Why am I wasting this money again?
3. I need injectors, tranny cooler/or manual swap... and lots of other FAR more important things....

I have Jun cam gears and love them, they are probably the most expensive and are made from stock honda cores!?!?! In any case they do not slip any more than a stock honda gear would slip, AEM with the three allen bolt system had a slight problem of slipping which was years ago and quickly fixed with 4 or 5 bolts. belts slip due to wear, brake cleaner, improper tensioning etc... My LS needs them badly I make alot of power over 0,0 stock. approx. 32hp@ 7psi, 44 @9PSI, - and after that I never compared to without cam gears. and this is on a stingy dyno
