How many of U, Road Race a Turbo Honda??
I know most of us, drag..and do street kills..but how many of you actually road race?? or autocross?..I thinking about going to the track soon and I am worried about running lean and detonation..not to mention my drag kit parts comming loose....
Any input or advice will be , thanks!
Btw: i would be running a mix of 91 octane and 100..if i go.

from what I have noticed, not too many people do, usually the roadracers use normally aspired cars just for quickness out of the corner. the reason why the nissans work so well on the road course is they have 2 litres with little teeny turbos allowing them to have power any time they tough the gas. you al probably know that but oh well.

I just started autocrossing. Haven't had any problems. I figure as long as your car is properly tuned you should be alright. Most of the courses I ran haven't lasted more than a 1minute. Most of the time you are out of boost anyways. It's a blast, I say go out try it.

.. actually I wonder that too. Since few times a year I also go to drive on track and it's usually 15-30min beating time. Oh... don't do this **** with new tires... u gonna throw 'em away anyway after racing :D

I lap my EK hatch with a b18c turbo. I got full ITR suspension and brakes as well. It's probably a good idea to invest in an oil cooler though and a bigger/aftermarket rad. I'm not usually out for more than 10 mins at a time, but during that time the oil and water temp goes up, as well as my brakes starting to fade. Lapping takes a toll on your car, but if you're carefull and don't stay out too long you'll be ok. It's the most fun you'll have with your car for sure.

I love roadracing!
But I do turn down the boost a little bit since I'm constantly bagging on the car for like 10-15 minutes straight. I try not to stay out for the whole session (and when I do I usually just get crazy heatsoak by the end of it anyways).

Sweet! Another Canadian racer. Nice. I have the same problem as well. 10-15 mins is the max before **** starts to break.

Just try to use a smaller turbo for road-racing, coz the .63AR is not really suitable for road-racing, i tried it and it doesnt give you all the power you want when exiting the corner, but with the .48AR turbo i had was better coz it has wider powerband and spool up way faster. Other than that is just concentrate on your driving skill!

I autocrossed my d16z6 w/ t25 all last summer. It was perfect, lots of strong midrange and tq to pull me out of the corners with authority. I have a t3 now it spools almost as fast but holds all the way to 7500. That should make straightaways imore nteresting this year

yeah..oil cooler for sure, i already have a fluidyne sitting in there..just wondering...seems most of us have heat problems, planning on getting a vented hood...so 10-15 min max on a honda, seems to be the general rule..thanks.

usually by the end of 15 minutes my car is soooo slow (from heatsoak?) and my clutch starts slipping like mad stupid clutchmasters, and my brakes are starting to fade.

I absolutely love to make canyon runs whenever possible. I also autocross and am looking to do some road race this year. I usually put a 6psi spring in my wg to help with tire spin problems. I can also recommend the Kuhmo V700 tires. I haven't found anything that sticks quite as well in a 205/40/17.
The only problem I have had is my Moroso pan seem to slosh a little too much for my dipstick to stay in when I brake Hard.
I can also recommend the PROGRESS Adjustable rear sway bar. It is magic!

Re: (CRX-RX)
i think it has to do with tuning personally...maybe to much ignition...long periods of time will tend to warm it up alot....
most tunners will tune for short burst of speed...unless you ask them to do otherwise.....atleast thats what im noticing...
but personally i dont see why a honda cant outlast any other car out there...
when i ran N/A it was fine..the brakes yeah were alittle worse for wear after 30min...but car was ok...not sure about power...cause once your out there for 30 minutes getting on it all the time...everything starts to feel slow...

Re: (pornstarSR)
So what do you think then, keep the ignition to a realtive minimum and tune on the rich side to aid cooling? I planed on picking up a GT30, but now I'm thinking maybe my eyes are too big for my stomach on that one.

Re: (CRX-RX)
umm yeah that maybe a bit big.....
but yeah on the cooling, keep it realiable....dont stress it out from the tunning side...since it wil be stressed from being raced...dont add anything to the mix that you dont have too
