Its not so much milage as it is overall engine performance. Like does the engine smoke?? use coolant??? burn oil?? Do a compression check on the engine and even a leakdown test if you want to be safe. If these are good and the motor seems solid then you should be fine. Hondas are built real well and stay storng if they are taken care of. I tore apart an engine w/ 130k on it and it was in excelent shape.

130k D16z6 turbo here, but I don't daily drive it.
But it runs strong...
also, what is the difference between compression check and leakdown?

Re: how many miles are too many to turbocharge? (Type R Driven15)
It's not the mileage, it's the Quality.
If the motor is in good condition and has 200,000 miles you could boost it..
if the motor is in poor to fair condition and has 80,000 miles on it, it could blow if you boost it.
it all depends on how well the motor has been treated, and what condition it's in.

The difference between comp and leakdown is basicily that a leakdown shows you where and how much the cyl is leaking, where as a comp test only tells you what the cyl will hold. When u do a leakdown listen for where the air is leaking from,if from the dipstick or breather then the rings are bad,int mani or headers=bad valve job or bent valve.Leakdown will also tell you the condition of the cyl by having a gauge that states the amount of leakage in % terms.
