How To Make My Ls-t last for 2 yrs.
How can I make my Ls-t last for 2 yrs. I already have my build done (weisco pistons, eagle rods, along with the full Greddy Kit) but I plan on adding bigger injectors and Uberdata. I don't plan to beat on it except for occasional runs at the track (maybe 1-2 runs a month). What do I need to do besides basic tune ups/oil changes to make this car setup last for 2 yrs.

If you are only gonna get on it 1-2 times a month. Don't even waste the money on a FI setup. just buy nitrous. Besides. it's 100% guarenteed ocne you go FI, you will get on it WAY more then 1-2 times a month lol.

yea i agree... it'll take a good tune to make it last.. and maybe just good maintenence and frequent checking up of things.

Re: (PrettyLude)
My LS turbo setup lasted well over two years due to two factors: a very conservative tune and general maintenence. A mild A/F ratio and modest timing are key factors in engine longevity; as far as maintenence goes, regular oil/spark plug changes are important, as well as instepcting your setup regularly for any adjustments needed. (i.e., valve adjustments, tightening bolts if needed.) With that in mind, I boosted 20 psi nearly everyday; all it takes is some TLC here and there.

Re: (squirtle)
Definately get a wideband and watch your A/F
Listen for knocking
make sure you reduce the timing per pound of boost
Make sure nothing's leaking
Check your oil every couple of days
Keep your filter clean
Don't boost for long periods of time
Dont be a dumb head
Hopefully everything goes your way... But don't be pissed if a problem comes up, 2 years is plenty of time for something to ****.

Re: (M.A.R.C.)
Is there anything else I can do? I've already got all the gauges in (A/F, Oil Pressure, Boost, Volts, and Fuel Pressure is on the way). What sort of Wideband should I look to get. I'm not looking to boost more than 12 psi on my Teg so is it even neccessary?

T3/T04B that was completely maxed out.. Made 293hp/272tq on pump gas, boost only.
It isn't 100% neccessary to buy a wideband to keep in the car, but if you have the cash laying around, it's nice to have. As long as your tuner uses one and you don't make any changes with the setup, you should be fine.

-after reading his question, and seeing it was 20psi on a stock engine, i had a good feeling it was a smaller turbo maxxed out....And im sure this guy thought on 20psi it was gonna make 450whp or something crazy Then i read what chamois posted below:
"T3/T04B that was completely maxed out.. Made 293hp/272tq on pump gas, boost only. "
--Right on the money
Everyone needs to realize that HP kills engines, not how many PSI.. Granted running 20psi can blow headgaskets easier than 9psi.
just like how everyone thinks a 90 shot is too much for their honda....
If you are making 170whp on motor and spraying a 90 shot you are maybe making 250whp. People make 300+whp turboed daily drivin on stock engines. I have sprayed 125hp shot direct port. maybe 290WHP which is more than Fine becuase it was tuned, and its not 290whp everytime like as if you are turboed, but im not going to get into that. HP is HP.
Key things: Poper tuning, maintenance, proper setups, and make sure your engine's Hp limits are not exceeded.

i know that the power made at xx psi is relative to the tubro size... i just asked how much power it made there... with that said i coulda guessed it was a smaller turbo
