Default how long should a BOV blow off ?

At about 8psi when I shift the BOV goes off for about a whole second. Is this normal or should I tighten it down ? I cant shift any faster since my tranny isnt that great.

also would it be bad to disconect it at the drag strip for doing runs ?

don't disconnect it....you can tighten it, but it going for a second isn't gonna hurt too much
