Default How long have you been turbo'ed?

I guess we can't have poll's in 'tech forums'

Just wondering how many miles you have on your turbo'ed motor.

Just wondering how long I might expect my GSR motor to last 6psi with greddy blue box ( i know i know no $$$ for hondata) ?

Also post any major problems you've had. Thanks
Thanks

Sorry can't vote or even contribute towards your question. There was no option for almost boosted.

25k miles on GSR with Greddy turbo and blue box. Hard to believe the Hondata 2B has been sitting in the garage waiting for over a year now.

No problems thus far, other than one faulty Earl's fitting on the oil feed line.

whats up guys? i drove almost 1 year, 20k about,, with a gsr swapped hatch, full drag gen 3 kit 8-10psi,,, rc 310's and vortech fmu,,,, dumb,,,, then i switched to hondata 2b and bigger injectors and blew my rings in about 1 month,,,,,perfect af, the car ran 12.80 at 110, everything was going good, until the rings went,,, there is nothing safe,,, boosted-hybrid tuned my **** too, so its not like I tuned the car wreckless,,, the maps were conservative as hell,,,,,oh well in the process of a rebuild,,,,,

25.5 K and about 18 mos of boosting 5-6 psi on stock d16y8. best and cheapest mods that made a lot of difference on the car.

i live in a place where it doesn't get any hotter than 82 degree all year round...

oh yeah this is my daily driver and never took it to the track...

i drive the car up to 5K RPM daily and once in a while ill go all the way to redline...

only problem i've had was o2 sensor, oil sending unit leaked, and missing link was dirty.

my clutch still holds but i know that i would definitely benefit from a new and upgraded clutch.

10k miles of abuse on my stock b18b.. I am ******* amazed at how much abuse I can give this engine, I do tons of 4th and 5th gear pulls and my engine is still doing great. Time to start boosting 12 PSI...

Not a turbo, but 3k miles on 6 psi, and another 3k miles (and counting) at 9 psi. H22 JRSC, stock internals.

whats wrong with 4th and 5th gear pulls? does it too muhc stress on the motor? and is this only for stock internaled motors?

I know its not good for an engine, cylindrical temps can get extremely high at such a high load It's a stock engine that will be getting sleeved and built when it blows so I am not concerned, its utterly amazing that the stock engine can handle such abuse. I have a tuned EMS and my AFR runs high 11s at full boost in 5th gear, EGT temps never exceed 800C, timing is conservative and lots of measures have been taken to make it relatively safe on the engine... I am not just some dick with an FMU setup doing top speed runs

10,000 since February on a 99' Si greddy turbo kit (7-9psi), blue box, and stock internals. And I kick the cars *** everyday. I keep saying that I don't want to rebuild but I guess I'm asking for it subconsciously.
