How are JB Welded modified Starion intercoolers holding up?
I saw a couple threads a while ago about people that modified their starion intercoolers with JB weld to put the inlet and outlet on the sides. Just wondering how they have been holding up. I was considering doing it.
Thanks

Dont know yet. I havent tried it out. Tomorrow/today whatever I am ordering my turbo from Max-Rev. Hopefully it'll be here in a couple of weeks. Then all I gotta do is fabricate my downpipe and buy my Tial. I will let everyone know when it's in and I get to do some nice boosting. Also since its cold wheather now, this should be the ultimate test to see if it holds.
Trust me I am more anxious then you are!

My new in/out pipes hold on just fine, but the aluminum patches I put over the old in/out holes kept blowing off. I solved this by using a sheet aluminum piece that I could overlap a couple inches on either side, hammered it to shape, and sunk a few little stainless screws into it to "pin" the patch onto the endtank. Then I JB-welded around the edges and it's been just great. Not the most elegant solution but damn cheap and easy!

It's not true ghetto until your cellphone is MADE of tape and glue.
Paperclips are OK too.
