Adjust it how? What do you mean? Is the bov too lose? or to tight? All you have to do is use a correct alan key to turn it clock wise to tighten it up and vis versa

Well inorder to tell if it's loose or tight, all you have to do is listen to your bov. If under low boost and you hear your bov go off then its loose. For example if you bov goes off while you are driving it normal under 3k (1-2 psi) then it may be too loose. And if you are on full boost and your bov doesnt go off then it may be too tight. You may want it a lil tighter then loose. If you leave it too loose you will actually lose pressure while on full boost.

you suppose to adjust the type S when engine is idling,,loosen it up(says "soft"turn that way),till it starts leaking, then close it up("hard"),give it like a 1/2 to 1 turn extra once you stopped air flowing out of it...i couldnt feel anything much coming out of it at idling at 800rpm on mine,so i did it at around 1500rpm,seems to be working great now for 2 years, but i did tighten it like two more turns when i turned boost up to 10-12psi

Does the adjusting nut actually make the spring have more or less resistance? Or does it just lower or raise how high the valve opens?
I've also got a type s. And as far as how hard the spring is to open, it feels the same as far as tension when its hard or soft, but the valve doesn't open as much when its on the hard setting. I'm a little confused

Here is what Greddy recently sent me in response to a question about the Type S:
Thanks for your interest in GReddy Products
The top nipple on the top section will connect to your intake manifold (so it reads both vacuum and pressure and does not get bled off to anything) While the lower fitting is a vent for the internal diaphragm This one should be left open and not connected to anything.
Make sure when you adjust the stiffness of the valve that you first loosen the lock nut before you adjust the set screw. Adjustment will very from car to car, so you need to use trail and error. Generally you want to valve as tight as possible, without getting any compressor surge. You don't want it too loose or it can open too early and you will loose boost. The valve should make one clean blowing sound, it should not stutter. It should also not open before the throttle is shut.
