How hot does the turbine housing get? What about the DP?
There are some high-temp paints for like 1500, and i think there is even 1800 (its in an old archive post I bookmarked). Would paint hold up on the turbine? Anyone tried it?

EGTs usually peak at 850C. So the turbine housing is going to be cooler than that.
Why would you want to paint the turbine housing anyways?

Lesson to learn: Dont dick around with **** when its still hot hehe.

I did my manifold, exhaust housing and DP with some high temperature enamel stuff (brush on) and put on a few coats. 6000 miles later it still looks good, though it ain't going to last forever.

i painted my dp with the 1800 high temp black paint... it ended up turning a white/creamish color, good thing i had heat wrap over it to hide the ugly color it turned.

i painted my dp with the 1800 high temp black paint... it ended up turning a white/creamish color, good thing i had heat wrap over it to hide the ugly color it turned.

That's not a good place for it. It should be tapped through the Dp flange where a internal wastegate would go, there you are getting your EGT before the turbo steals some heat.

i did not want to put the probe before the turbo, ive heard of the probe breaking off before... and well a probe going through the fins of a turbo just doesnt sound too appealing to me...
