bump for an answer,
i know that it has to be at least 2-300 degrees higher, but i'd like to hear from someone who knows.

higher egt's come from retarding timing, which in turn is going to have more of a negative affect on your manifold and turbine, not so much the sleeves. i like to keep mine under 1500° at full boost.

depends where your measuring... what matters is the temp comming out of the head, so if your right out of the runner then you don't want to be near I believe its 1400 deg C. but it might be 1600deg C, the temp at which your pistons start to melt...
someone else verify...

Re: (turbosi03)
Where is the probe tapped mrgsr? that's only around 1200 F... I have mine tapped around 1" from the head on cyl 3, and highway crusing i'm at around 1400-1450 deg. If I go WOT in everygear I can get it close to 1550-1600!!!

Re: (hondaguyef)
mine is tapped in the downpipe about 2 inches from hte turbo. thats where the instructions said to tap it on the autometer gauge, and also it was already tapped when i bought the downpipe so i kept it there. i know that the reading isnt as accurate but on my bone stock b16 i've seen close to 1300 F
but normal highway driving i'm at around 900-1000 F
but i never do long highway pulls, so thats what i was wondering if i could do pulls which in turn would generate more heat. after i do my build that is.
