Im planning to build a daily driven 600 HP LS-VTEC motor I wonder if tilton dual

YES, the Tilton Twin Ceramettalic clutch is capable of handling up to 700 ft'lb of torque.

I have sold many setup on daily driven cars pushing 400 whp and up. The pedal pressure is slightly stiffer than stock, while the engagement is like any twin disk clutch.

We have been doing the clutch with OEM flywheel, this way the weight of the Machined OEM flywheel (13lbs ish) is much more streetable than the Titlton Flywheel (5.6lbs).

I am personally running the new Tilton 9.8lbs street flywheel, I am loving it.

Our server is down right now, but I will post some pics in a day or two. Call me if you have any question.

Tilton Clutchs are old school proven performance. I have no experience with them but many old timers trust them in there big block muscle cars.

tiltons customer service sucks ***!!!
This is what happened to my tilton clutch after daily driving it, maybe 700 miles only 350hp

I had to buy ******* new disc to make it work, you also have to buy the damn hydrolic bearing and master cyclinder for it to work best.

a 1300 dollar clutch turns into a 2000 dollar clutch. very expensive .

Your one problematic **** tho, Jordon. So your experiences dont really count.

You've destroyed everything on your setup.

Hmm sure you had the right disc? I had some wacky issues with a JDM B16 (IIRC) transmission that had a weird spline count... regular B series clutch discs would fit right on it but the didn't catch all the way. Had to order a special RPS disc for it.

then again tilton could just suck. hehe.

Despite the current Tilton bandwagon, it would seem the aren't intended for street use. ?

I believe that the exedy you can get both but i am more interested in the fact that the exedy is sprung on each disk which helps the engagement and to reduce the stress on the driveline.
Personally, I compare the tilton disk itself to a very expensive 6 puck unsprung clutch. We all know what happens to 6 puck cluthes without springs Bt i have no experiance with the tilton or the exedy but I am leaning towards the exedy just becuase it is sprung

the tilton is a lot better than your normal 6 puck clutch. first off the design doesn't use straps. and the actual ceramic material is better than what you'd find in the normal 6 puck clutch. the cromoly flywheel its packaged with is constructed better than the stock flywheel. i've taken apart the tilton twin for inspection and even after 40 or so 1/4 mile passes in a 600-700 whp car there was hardly any wear on the clutch at all.

on a normal 6 puck you would find that the flywheel and pressure plate would be deeply grooved. the actual 6 puck disc last for quite some time however.

overall the tilton twin disc is a good clutch, it's just not necessarily a street clutch.

Tilton have great customer service. I had to do swap a few disks in the past and I was able to use the disks we have on our inventory and they replaced our inventory in 3 days.

You should have gone though the place where you purchased it and they will handle it flawlessly.

where did you purchased the tilton from ?
