How good are these EBAY FMIC???
Hey guys I am redoing by kit. Was a Drag III kit and now piecing my own kit together. My goal is 350-425 WHP and was wondering if those ebay FMIC are ok to buy? Anyone have any luck with them?
Oh and what size should I be looking for based on that power range? I don't want a really big one where I have to cut and shave my car too bad.
Thanks.

When you're buying the ebay one, make sure that it bar and plate. They will do the job no problem and cost like 150 shipped

Fighting the urge to say search N00B. I have one run 1.2 bar through it, countless people make great numbers on them. Will say bar and plate in the auction.

Ran one at 30psi, and it didn't fall apart, but they suck compared to a good ic. There's not enough turbulators inside to break up the air, which is what needs to happen to efficiently cool. Not a big deal at low boost, cause you're not heating the air much, but at high boost they're far from efficient.

Have you done any tests to see how much of a difference there is between a cheap chinese intercooler and a good quality one like a spearco or precesion? I would think at low boost there wouldn't be a significant difference between the two, but at higher boost levels there would be.
I've been searhing around for a good bang for the buck intercooler and here's the intercooler that I'm going to go with. I've heard nothing but good things.

Re: (sneakypete)
I ran a OBXr for a season at 27psi. worked great.... didnt fail on me and intake temps were in the mid high 90s (spring time).
Like tony said tho, works but not the best.

Anyone see johnnys site lately? Is he still on vacation or does he have a new site? That's why I explored the ebay FMIC.
Seem like this one on ebay "27 X 6. 5 X 3.5 FMIC INTERCOOLER BAR PLATE NISSAN HONDA" is a winner. $100 shipped and its 3.5" thick. Should be enough for my horsepower goals between 375-425 from what you all are saying.
Will I have clearance issues at 3.5" thick you think?
