jdm d15b makes the same horsepower as the z6 but has alot better powerband, have also seen more impressive numbers out of the d15b vtec on the dyno. The stock cam is basically the "type R" cam of d series, very similar to the zex 59300 cam. Internally the block is basically a vx block with stronger rods, the r/s ratio of the d15b is the same as that of a b17a, it revs very freely and impresses most people that ride in my car. I say go with the jdm d15b. With whatever motor you choose to go with you shouldnt have a problem hitting your quarter mile goals as long as you have a good set-up. Here is a pretty informative link about the motor, https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=585043

same thing here, I got a JDM d15B turbo.
very strong little boy.
took several abuse over two year,
Compression is perfect across all 4 cylinder,
pull strong as hell
better power band and rod stroke ratio as it was said before
all in over all, one of the best SOHC availlable for modding.

Do a search on D serie turbo trany man,
I would recomment the EX tranny or a Hybrid one...
I'm running the SI tranny and the gear are so short... first is almost inexistant, second go trough pretty quick too...
see ya

the final gear determine the ratio.
some Ex trany got a gear other an overdrive,
Ask Mistabone if you want to get some clearer answer, I don't know wich model got what from the top of my head...
