How do you prevent your turbo pipes from blowing off?
This has now happened to me two times. The pipe connected to the intake side of the turbo (on the way to the intercooler) has blown off. How can I prevent this from happening again??
I'm guessing I could get the lip rolled out?? FYI: I'm running custom turbo pipes.

you can weld a lip on the pipe and use tbolt clamps. I also reccommend if you are really series weld a bracket to the two pipes thats what we do to keep the race car pipes together.

I've had great success just welding on like three raised "dots" around the end of the pipes, this keeps the hose clamp from sliding off. I've even done it with dots of JB-Weld or 5-minute epoxy and it holds fine IF the surface is roughed up and very clean before you apply it. That's probably your fastest fix for your problem.

I either have a bead weld put all the way around at a Local muffler shop or I can drive to Golden and TEC has the machine that puts the little lip on there.

Also if it's really bad or your running high boost, then T-Clamps are your friends...

T-clamps work really well. if you wanna do it the cheap way... just double the claps you already got on now. it works.

Check out the McMaster-Carr catalog if you have access to one. I ordered my clamps from there. They were about $3.75ea. These were the ones that open to like 2.625" to work with 2.25" intercooler piping. If you buy more than 10 the price drops even more.
