How do some turbo cars blow off with no load ??!! LOL.
Okay I searched around for a while and now its buggin me that how come some turbo cars are able to blow off at a stand still (ie. a stop light)?? I do not get it considering the theory behind it of how the BOV works with boost (and a load to the engine - ie. driving) as posted in some of the posts here but yet some of these factory turbo cars are still able to blow off with "no load" lol ... anyone care to explain? Thanks.
Damn, that does not sound right "blow off with no load" LOL

depends on the bov how loud it is and what turbo they are running. many things can factor this one. My bro lsvt will vent with lil take off and my cousin won't vent loud till the car is under full boost. Diffrent set ups

Smaller turbochargers can boost with very little engine load, and set off the BOV. A lot of factory turbocharged cars like the WRX come with tiny turbos. I have a Forester CrossSports that will boost in neutral because the stock turbo is so dinky.
Also your exhaust setup can some affect as well. Less resistance, better spool.
Finally, the type of BOV can take play as well. My Teg has an HKS racing BOV that is open when the accelerator i not engaged, and closes when the engine is revved. So I can rev my engine in neutral and the BOV will go off no matter how much load there is.

another factor that hasen't been mentioned is the charge tract.
if you have long charge pipes and a big intercooler, it takes more volume to fill all that up.
so if you have a small intercooler, or no intercooler at all, and short "to the point" charge pipes you will be able to fill the tract with pressure a lot easier.
