How damaging are afterfires to turbine wheels?
For some reason I already expect to get a dozen worthless replies, but for the one who might possess the knowledge -
Has anyone replaced damaged turbos due to broken/bent/blown apart turbine wheels? What else is at risk, possibly the seals?
To be more specific, I'm referring to a single, loud exhaust explosion per gear as a result of hitting the rev limit.
Thanks for any advice
