Hello new to the forum posting this for a friend. He has a 97 civic d16 and just installed a t3/t4 turbo kit. He is not tuned and is running stock injectors,fuel pump. Well ever since the install he is getting horrible gas mileage like 5 miles to the gallon. He is new to this car and to turbos and is wondering once he does the injectors, fuel pump, gets the car tuned if his problems will cease or if he has a bigger problem to figure out first. All responses are welcome and thanks for any help in advance.

First and foremost, i would check for any gas leaks, boost leak test it, and do the regular spark plug and cables maintenance routine if he hasn't done so already.
Also, does he have a wideband ? This is necessary to be able to monitor your a/f ratios to see if he's running pig rich or lean.

He had just installed new spark plugs and wires about a month before the install. He is definitely running rich tons of carbon build up on the exhaust and it stinks like gas

why the hell would he be running it untuned??? does he want to buy a new motor?

heres your answer... GET IT TUNED! boosting a untuned engine is absolutley retarded

get some 450cc injectors too.... so many things wrong with this
