Default Horsepower freaks turbo M3

I know this isn't honda related but I learned everything I know about forced induction from this forum. So many M3 owners say that that kind of whp is impossible w/o a built motor but I know it is especialy on race gas with tunning. It's just a matter of keeping heat and pre-detonation out by tunning fuel and timing.

Anyways your input is appreciated

Yeah I know please try to ignore the cost, I'm only curious what peoples inputs are on the stock motor being able to handle that kind of power.

for those that don't know

s54 m3 motor
double VANOS (BMW's variable valve timing)
independant throttle boddies
12.1 compression
3.2 L
8000 rpm red line

Well it is a complete system for an M3...that's a little nicer than our Honda's haha. Plus they developed their own engine management which is also a little nicer than dicking around with crome/hondata/etc like we do. The 16,000 is justifiable for this kit.

It's still an M3 with leather heated seats, radio, air conditioning, fully streetable (idle) and midrange, stock exhaust, stock engine, smooth clutch (see there drivability video).

Like I said it's still an M3 .

What? Having no A/C, vibrating cabins, stiff *** motor mounts, and worrying that your tune will always be in check isn't the way to go now these days???? haha

Anything for BMW(Break My Wallet) is going to be expensive so for 16g it's priced a little higher then the regular units which is expected with the HP gain.

This is the reason why I'm selling my coupe.

hell, i don't mind being apprehensive about my car because i know for the money i spent i couldn't build an m3 thats faster...plus, there's even more money at stake driving an m3.. and with the unpredictability of pushing a car to it's mechanical limits, if something breaks, i'd be far less upset to take the loss knowing i spent less...

I'd rather dump 16k into another stable platform. One where you can get the 'shell' for 1/3 the price, get a much broader powerband, and not worry about the stock electronics draining your battery or the other common elecrical gremlins bmw's are known for. Or pay someone that much to fix up an older muscle car and put in a crate more into it. If you want the ultimate pantie dropper, don't stop at a bmw.

Have you seen the prices on just shells, let alone restoration parts, for old muscle cars recently? Its ridiculous. Its still not going to be as nice as the M3 is inside either.

To each his own . I just like both the luxury and drive of a BMW, and if insane acceleration can come with it, I might as well get it.

I like knowing that my inexpensive honda could blow the doors off a $40,000 corvet or other fast cars that stupid people like to drive.

But the m3 is nice to. I just could not afford to pay someone to work on it for me.

16K is what most people spend on here for that kind of power+reliability but no kit for a Honda on the market comes with that type of "turn key" performance complete out of the box.

I'd rock the **** out of it
