blowing it up all depends on how you drive it and maintian it....but a brand new k-series even with a turbo should still be like and other honda and live strong till around 300k....

I got a 1990 hatchback as a beater car, i take it in the sandpits and stuff 314k on it and runs awsome! honda's will live for a long time.... as long as you get your motor tuned to perfection she will live a while aswell

IT also depends on how you drive it... No amount of building and tuning will help if you are doing redlines pulls to 120 everyday... You know that 100mile commute everyday you might want to put your foot in it more often than you think...

Parts that are going to be changed more often are:

Tires
Brakes
Oil
Plugs
Timing Belt or Chain depending on what motor you get

What are you going to want to do with the car? You say its your daily driver right? A 100 mile commute everyday is pretty far. You might want to think about leaving it NA. Get the Kpro, Intake, Header, Exhaust and some tuning would put you at a super smooth and comfortable low 200's to the wheels... Check out Rcrewracings site they have done quite a few......

I concur. If that combo = a high 13 in a Type S, it would certainly be faster in a lighter car, and that would make for a smooth, reliable Honda that is more than fast enough for DD street duty.

yeah 150k? thats something ud get out of a domestic. not a honda...

as for a k series, well its a honda, there really isnt a honda engine out there that wont last you if u treat it right

if u got the money go for it man.. worst comes to worse, u blow the engine and rebuild it and learn a few things

It's been said before and i'll say it again
Power, Reliability, Low Cost
pick two
if you pay more to get proper parts and tuning, it'll be nice and reliable

honestly we all know this guy isnt gonna drive like a gramps with a k-series swap and a turbi setup! i know most of you wouldn't! anyway my friend had an LS , rebuilt bottom to top, with a nice greddy turbo setup. Even with the 2 Days of tunning by a Popular shop, his motor only lasted 30K. Oh and He "never" abuses it, so what he told me, but hey its up to you. There alot of different opinions out there on fully rebuilt motors! Do more research and get 3rd opinions on it! Thats your best bet!

I'll admit these are race cars that i have personnal knowledge of but there still only puttting down 250-300 whp which isnt extreme! Id hate to see how many pulls youd get with an 800 plus hp honda motor!!!!

thats true. ask most people who rebuild NOT using oem or just honda parts they only last like at most 30K. I personally think JG is a SUPER company but a real racing car is built to race or run for the day only not for a daily driver. Take a 8 sec car for example, do you see them driveing it everyday? Ask them, they probably onlt put like 1 or 2K on it in 1 year. So its up to you man, its your car, you do what you want, but hey I can be wrong. Ask for 3rd opinons.

Quick Reply: honestly , if i spend 6000 on a motor and turbo how long will it last? 50kmiles? 300hp
