Hondata Problem...could use some suggestions...
So we installed the Hondata last night and did some partial throttle tuning...no problem. Cleared out a ton of detonation and also figured out why Im boosting 11PSI with a 6PSI pulley.
Car was driving terrific, until Im ALMOST home. Stop at a stop sign, turn right, get into a bit of boost and the car just turns off. Completely shuts off and dies. I stop, try to start it again....nothing. Just turns over and doesnt start. I jumped the connector and got no code...the ABS light flashes once but the CEL stays illuminated.
Its an S200 system with boost, and no led is illuminated on the box itself either. I am running DSM 450's with 10 watt 10ohm resistors inline. Im thinking a couple things...
1) ECU is fried...maybe the resistors dont work?
2) Hondata box is bad, although it would still run wouldnt it?
3) Who the hell knows....help!
Any ideas???

OK, Im starting to think (read: HOPE) that the problem lies with the hardware.
Either the interface box is bad, or the cable going to the box is bad. Maybe the ground wire on the cable is no good?

Clip the J1 connector and see if the car starts, that will put the ecu into its stock mode.. it should idle poorly and be really rich. If that works then your box is either dead or isn't connecting to the ECU properly.

What do you mean clip it? Where is the J1 connector? Im hoping that would work, meaning its the box/cable...

dude, thats what happens when the cable from the interface box to the ecu comes loose. i would think it will still start just in **** mode but mayeb not. Usually I would check all the wiring, most likely something isn't tight

I would think that the car would start though if there was a problem with the box/cable, wouldnt it? It doesnt even start

The car will start and run in limp home mode if the Hondata interface box or ROM is faulty (or even completely removed). Check the fuses and power to the ECU.

Yeah.. I think it's called shitty connectors.. Every once in a while I'm driving and all of a sudden I'll hit fuel cut when boost hits.. I'm like WTF and i look down and see the led on the hondata box off.. Just jiggle the wires a little on the harness and the led comes back on and it's back to normal.. Sometimes the light goes on and off.. Anyone have a simple solution to this problem??

*ding ding*!!!
Doug hit the nail on the head. Stupid me...
The ECU fuse! The first thing I figured would be the box or the ECU...I completely forgot to check the fuse! Now i just have to figure out what caused the fuse to blow. Going to check the injectors to make sure the resistors are doing their job, but other than that, I dont know?
