Hondata + larger injectors vs. FMU (searched)
Now, I know this topic has been killed, but I need some advice...
I took my car to a shop and had them work on my Drag-equipped B16A. They installed an HKS low-compression head gasket, ARP head studs, Edelbrock Victor-x intake manifold, G-sport throttle body + fuel rail, and RC 750cc's, and asked them to have Hondata s300 installed and take it to Church's for tuning. In addition, I told them to remove the Vortech FMU and get me an AEM FPR.
Sounds good, right? Here's the problem:
They're insistent that I need that POS FMU, the injectors are WAY too big for tuning, and even if they can get it to run it'll never idle with the size of the injectors. They haven't even gotten the FPR yet because they think that it's unneccessary because they want me running the Vortech setup.
Am I off-base here, or are the people at the shop full of crap? If so, how can I convince these geniuses otherwise so I can get my car finished? Thanks.

go to a different shop because they don't know what they are talking about. ditch the fmu and go ahead and get that aem one. 750's will idle fine as long as the hondata tuner knows what he's doing. im using 750s in my turbo gsr and it idles perfectly. my hondata tuner gave me a great basemap for my s200. if they are conserned about the rise in fuel level. the universal aem fpr has a 1:1 rise ratio.

I'm running a drag kit with hondata and 880cc injectors. The car idles and runs better then when it was a stock motor. Find a new shop.

Those injectors will work fine. I daily drive my b16 with 1000cc injectors. It's all in the tuning. I would suggest a better fuel pump like a walbro 255.

Go to another tuner because I use 720cc precisions on my setup, b18 c1 with a sc61 running 15psi almost daily driven like 4 times a week, and mine idle great I never heard anything as rediculous as that.
