Default Hondata intake gasket with high boost?

Has anyone used the Hondata heat shield intake gasket with boost of 30 lbs? Since it's made of such a hard material, I'm wondering if it can hold that much pressure. We have one to try but just not sure of it sealing ability.

Does it crush to size and shape? Will it be reusable?

I just bought one for my z6 and i was told now that they leak and i will need longer studs for it to seal properly. Does anybody know if this is true?

The only reason you need longer studs is because the gasket is about .1" thicker than stock. You would want to make sure the mani studs were long enough to accept the whole nut.

I still don't understand how a gasket that hard will give you good sealing at high boost????

Is there a particular stud that is needed? I mean from what car and application works with these gaskets. I just got mine and need to install it.

Thanks.

they have had them for the h22/23 for a long long time now. Check http://www.hondata.com

I have one on my daily driver Teg, we did not use the washers, which is what necesitates the longer studs. For my all out Civic, I purchased throttle body studs from Acura which thread right in, and are a lot longer.

It's not as hard as you would think it is. It actually becomes somewhat plyable with heat, which is why Hondata recommends retorquing them after a few heat cycles, as they will seat a bit.

You should be able to find the studs in any good auto parts store. 1/4" longer should be enough to handle the gasket and the washers.
