hondata i/m heatshield gasket install write up :)
first off it only took ten mins. lol. i gotta say its so much easier with the motor out of the car. k here we go.
d16y8 complete swap
manifold off the long block
d16y8 intake manifold
the hondata i/m gasket. looks like it glows huh??
my friend jackson dremeling the old gasket off the manifold
hondata i/m gasket on the head
putting the y8 manifold back on almost in..
its in
lol.. i know its not the best write up but hope this helps or i dont even know if its a write up at all. hahah hope i dont get flames.

sorry i wouldnt know its just a spare complete y8 swap i have and trying to build up. i have a d15b vtec turbo in my car right now.

umm the hondata gasket didnt even cool down my manifold. people say that after driving it u would be able to touch ur intake manifold with no problems mine is still like before. very hot. burns my hand.

yes reusable is good . after i got mine on i touched the im right by the head and i was able to hold my finger there for at least a few seconds, and on the mani a few inches on the other side of my fuel rail i could grab and hold it no prob. for comparison, i almost instantanioulsy burn my finger if i touch the head right on the other side of the heat shield.

Don't know what to tell you...my manifold went from seering hot before the gasket, to luke warm after a run at 14psi w/ the hondata gasket.

damn u think its becuase i have the street version??? and my car the timing is really relaly retarded. u think its because of the leak? that i have in my intake manifold? we tried to adjust it all the way and it just still so retarded

Well I have the street version too..so it's not that. I also don't think your timing is causing it either. If your manifold is not sealing well...you can get rid of those teflon washers and try re tightening from the middle out.

nope didnt have teflon washers.. we tighten it the tightest as can be its still leakin. so imma put it back to stock stupid stock gaskets are so freakin expensive $30 my hondata z6 gasket is for sale..

return of the dead...lol wait so you guys are telling me that in order for the IM to not leak i would have to buy a hondata IM gasket? another thing i would like to know since i don't have a manual is what's the tube in the middle of the d16y8 manifold?
