Hondata + HIGH BOOST!??
 

ok guys i need to know what the hondata system will do if i boost over the 28.5psi limit in the romeditor?
I have went in and unchecked the box that say enable boost cut,
so i am wondering if i can run 30psi+on this setup.

I am thinking that the system will just carry the values from the 28 psi column on out to the 30+ psi values.


And just so you are wondering i want to run this high of boost,because i am ony 8:1 compression and i am currently buying a Large FMIC and a 70mm TB(thanks to boosted hybrid!) adn i want to crank the boost up to make 430whp out of my D-series so i can run 11's on BFG's next year.


Does anyone know?

Yes, you could do this. I am currently doing something similar with the stock Map sensor. It is good for about 11 lbs and I am running about 13lbs. All I did was richen up the fuel on the last column of the map about 7% just in case. It ran rich so I leaned it slighly until the AF was dead on. Runs great!!

I wasn't really concerned since this was a stock block and my built motor is ready to go in this winter. If it blows, it blows. Your case is a little different in that you already have the good motor in the car. If you do it, just watch the AF closely.

Are you still using the same turbo you have been using all summer?

ok cool, so it does just look at the last value then.

yeah i am still using the same turbo that i had this summer, the .60 tim. 63 ar one.

You can do it just like you said above...the only thing you gotta be careful about is physically damaging the MAP sensor itself.

ok i thought of that, and the sensor is made to go to 3 BAR correct? which is about 45psi, i only want to see about 30-35 which should put me in the power i am looking for, or maybe even more https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif

It's a 3 bar sensor, but it's only 2 bar of positive pressure. There's where the 29 psi limit comes from.

The first bar is how it controls the engine from idle to atmospheric pressure.

The map sensor operates off a resolution range, in this case between 0-3bar. The map sensor voltage output is a function in change in bar. When you run higher than 28.5psi, your voltage value will be 5v no matter what the step change in bar is past that point. This means you'll be operating within the last boost column fuel values no matter how much boost you run past 28.5psi. A few psi over most likely wont hurt the sensor, but this depends on how fine the calibration of the sensor is.
