Hondata 2b --> S200 Need help cause I dont get this stuff
Hey guys .. Well I thought I was gonna get my stuff tuned now, but I think its safe to wait on the exhaust and the downpipe from tony and only pay for tuning once.
In any event Im trying to figure this out ... I have the Blue Hondata 2b interface box and that long wire, no datalogging. Do you think its worth it to upgrade to an S200. I mean I don't need all those "cool features" but I guess from a tuning aspect its a newer version of the ROM Ver. 3. With the 2/3/4 units are Ver. 2.5.
Correct me if Im wrong but can't a 2b be tunned with a s200 system and via the emulator or software be converted to a ver 3 to 2.5, which could be used with a 2b. But in doing so, there is a jumper that needs to be removed to tune a 2b with an s200 but that is just to improve the datalogging speed and reliability. Im trying to gather information so I can understand this and not spend 200+ to upgrade to a s200.
For all of the guys that have helped me via PM's thanks.
Hopefully someone can shed light on this.

Your Hondata dealer should still be able to tune it, but the s200 will probably end up being better for you in the end for a daily driven car.

I kinda want to upgrade mine to an S200 as well. The 2b works great, but they worked out all the little bugs supposivly on the S200. I don't wanna get a S200 though an be unhappy an then upgrade again to some new thing a year later. but, You can tune a 2b w/ an S200 u just need version 2.5 of rom editor.

upgrade from 2b to s200b is $175. Accessories (3 step, g sensor, datalogging, rom editor) are extra.

Thanks guys .. I guess I got all worked up cause I thought there wasn't an accurate way to tune without data logging. Im in no way shape or form a Hondata tuner but without datalogging I guess its a drop more harder.
So I assume you read off the wideband and tune via the A/F .. as close to 12 as possible. I'm basically talking about street tuning Without the aid of a dyno which might not be the best thing either, ya know?
I guess a dyno should be my way to go since I dont have data logging.

So it would cost me $225 (3b -> s200) and then i still have to buy the software still to tune it I think AEM sounds good right now, just to try something different. I have some thinking to do.

fredo, if u r street tuning the car the datalogging is almost nessacary. Without it you would have to think of some creative way to keep an eye on the a/f, rpm, and boost all at the same time. On the dyno u can do w/ out the datalogging cause the dyno does that stuff for u u just gotta watch the boost guage.

i know ,, maybe I should just go on the dyno, it guess we can't cheap out, cause turbo and cheap arent two words that should be in the same sentence
