Homemade 3 inch DP for my SOHC.
I just want to show you what I did the last weekend... I wasnt easy but I did it !
I forgot to take some pics before the wrapping but I used a MIG with a stainless steel wire + a special mixed gas. All the bend are in SS.
So I went with an open dump tube for this year to try it but I think that the lenght of the tube will help to reduce the noise a bit and if you can see at the begining of the tube there is a larger tube for the explosion ( I took a old headers from my Formula Ford to do the dump tube )... but anyway if I dont like it, it wont be that hard to route it in the DP...
So I was running a 2.25 inch DP last summer and it was a weird design that by the eye wouldnt flow that well... should I see some gain in whp and spool time ?? I run a SC50 .63 ar at 15 psi in the street.
Tell me what you think about...
I really like to do my own things you learn so much and your sure that all is done right !
Thanks to platinum00 for hosting those pictures

Looks great!
I like how the dumptube extends under the car and dumps towards the ground... I wanted to do that with mine but got lazy... LoL
Great looking setup by the way

from a local shop for the 3 inch... but for the dump tube I used a old header... there was a lot of bend in it to do the perfect fit dump tube lol and it was the perfect size too

ah... make sense why you have it there, I was just wondering because the probe will read a higher temp because of the combined exhaust... but you probably already knew that

keep the heat in??

first its not a header but a downpipe lol but anyway... yeah its beater to keep the heat in the exhaust and it also keep the engine bay cooler. As you can see my manifold and my turbo housing are ceramic coated... its just too difficult to wrap...
