Holy Crap! New Dyno #'s from Tempest!
I received a good email from Jason @ Tempest Racing the other day saying that he had found out his Hondata Software was giving him probs (which he fixed). He asked me to come in and let him put another tune on the car, because he felt my car may not be running up to potential. Here is the result:
272.5hp and 180.2lb ft with 7.5 psi on a B16A!
Let me just say it takes an awesome tuner and excellent customer service to have the ***** to admit there might be an issue and offer to retune the car for me! Tempest gets my

I have a very hard time beleiving this. The first #'s seem more realistic IMO. Did you ever think the dyno could have been adjusted to make more power? It can be done easily on a dynojet. The car should be MUCH MUCH faster. I just have a hard time taking in a 60whp increase and 270+ out of a b16 on 7.5lbs. If those are your #'s, theyre killer.

hmmm 200HP @ 4200PM on a B16 is great(maybe better than great). We all know how fast a b16 can get to 4200 rpm, that's almost just of idle. The boost only at 7.5 is also something else.
What was your VTEC point set at ?

could u please post ur set up again? the #'s look great, only thing is ur torque is steadily increasing till redline. which, even though its a b16a, is still kinda odd.

Major difference!
Im not familar with tempest, but situations like this make lasting impressions.
A friend and I were talking about a similar topic today. Its seems a local shop finds it monitarily appeasing to take the customer for everyhting they can while they have the car in the shop. AND THATS NOT WHAT ITS ALL ABOUT. The shops that are run by people that are reliable, courteous, and HONEST will aways be around for the long haul.
What do you think Eric? Would you go back to them?

Definetly I would go back to them. The had the intestinal fortitude to admit a problem and that points to excellent customer service!

Something just isn't right here. With the way horsepower is derived from torque, I do not see how it is mathematicially possible that you have those HP numbers, for those torque numbers. For example, the horsepower and torque curves ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS have to cross at 5252 rpm, without question. Here, they aren't even close.
Pick a point, and run the formula for horsepower. (torque*rpm)/(5252) You'll see that something is out of whack....
I hate to say it, but something is SERIOUSLY wrong over at that dyno.
