HKS ssqv how to tell real or fake?
I have been considering a HKS ssqv but there are so many fakes out there, does anybody know how to spot real from fake? Any tips/pics greatly appreciated!!

buy one from a authorized dealer is your best bet. I bought mine from a dealer on ebay since they had pretty good deals.
Do the fake ones say HKS on them? Ive seen some knock offs that dont says HKS on the top but say ssqv on them...

A friend of mine has one, and it's been working fine at the 14 psi he's running, but there's no telling how it will react at higher pressure levels.
I bought mine from an authorized dealer on ebay as well.

Which hks dumpvalve would you want? As theres now 2 types. Below are Type 2 Dumpvalves.
As you can see by the above pic that the fakes have become exactly the same.
Buy one from an authorised dealer as said and youll have no problems..

God damn, those do look identical, not like the horrible Greddy copies, i think its the type 1 i want, its polished and says HKS in yellow, i think they don't make it anymore so i have to buy a used one, thats why i started this thread

The only way to find out is to take it apart and inspect the diaphragm. The replica ones are always a plastic/rubber type diaphragm that isn't flexible and hinders valve movement. The authentic ones have a nice diaphragm and you'd know the difference once you see it.
