highest WHP, pump gas h22
looking for some #'s and dynos if possible,
im making 380whp right now and want to make more on pump but would like to know maxium whp ever known for an h22 on pump and to see different setups for different ideas.

well this guy is building his motor right now, just like you. and it should be done around the same time. i wish there was some way to set up a race between you guys, but Cali to Ohio is a mission.

so how do you know if someone made 500whp with 91octane.
if the motor isnt even done yet.

hes being a smartass because i used the "wait till my cars done" kind of thing. Even though i'm only waiting on a v-band clamp and a couple misc. fueland water line fittings.

well you misunderstood me. the 500whp was on 91 octane.
the motor blew shortly after now hes building one for 700whp.

700whp on 91 octane right? Tell him to use 89 octane, it weighs less

Pump really varies, as you know, in different states. Only made 308 @ 10 psi on pump. have made 429 whp @ 17 on 113 octane. GT30, 10:1 Arias. S300, etc.
Any specs? Torque? RPM range?

Re: (purpleh22)
I hit around 400 on pump safely sometime last year with the h23a. I had a little bit of breakup so I threw in some 110 and it cleared it up. I stopped at around 450whp. The h series engines are known to have a lower msbc than the b series... so making a lot of power on pump gas with them can sometimes be finicky.
I have tuned a lot of h series engines and they seem to be hit or miss with them making x amount of power on pump. I will typically run 110oct or more after 400whp on the majority of h series i do. B series engines are another story... I've managed to pull 557whp on a b16 w pump. These engines are all fully built by the way.
So to answer your question, add some more boost and see how the engine does. The tuner should be able to distinguish if you run into any problems related to pump gas or not.

well since you dont belive it, here it is.
in the last page you can see how one-fab says he hit 550whp.

i'm doubting the fact that its being done on pump gas. and one fab was most def on race gas for that power

Nobody doubted it. By the way, that was a stock h22 and it did not run pump gas. I saw matt run last year out at rockingham with that setup when he broke a retainer. If anyone hit 700whp with a h22 with 91 or 93 octane I can guarantee you the engine didn't last long.

hey b16hybrid_slow
i never said he made 700whp on 91 octane, i stated that he made 500whp.
so u can stop your hating and stop the stupid jokes that you couldn't even make up on your own. 500whp on a H22 is NOT the most amazing thing ever. just because you alreadly fell that your h22 setup will fail and hardly make any power doesnt mean that this guy didn't alreadly make 500whp. and btw the 500whp that WAS done on the 91 octane did blow shortly after but not before proving that this can be done with a stock h22 bottom end.

obviously the bottom end failed for a reason, a stock h22, 10:1 compression + 91oct pushing that much power is prone for detination.
Yes 15.2@89 is slow on my bone stock sol. No my setup has not failed because it hasn;t ran with all the new parts. i'm just being realistic about my goals.. if it makes more, cool.
Being totally honest about this, high compression is not the way to make lost of hp on pump gas. Take it however you want but its a fact. Unless you use something as a detination inhibitor such as meth injection.. but then it wouldn't be a true straight pump gas setup
