Default Is the higher cost really beneficiall?

i have seen turbo's for civics that give 75-100hp for around $2800 like FMAX
but then i have seen civic turbos for $750-1000 like Greddy on hopupracing.com
also are bolt on or bearign turbos bettter and why?

i think you would be better off peiceing together a kit. maybe a little more expensive, but well worth it in the long run to know you have all the parts you want.

The thing about those kits like the greddy, is that once you build your motor, you pretty much will have to change the whole kit in order to make any decent amount of power.

I agree with these guys. Piecing together a kit will probably make you happier in the long run. Kind of depends on what motor you are talking about B-series, D-series but the greddy kits generally include small turbos and setups that dont have as much potential as other kits or custom kits. Not to bash on greddy or anything because their kits are pretty much bolt on and serve their purpose well.

Decide on your budget and power goals and go from there. Do you want to make 200hp or 500hp? Do you want a small quick spooling turbo or an extremely powerful T4. What kind of fuel management, etc. Generally the more power you want to make the more you are going to spend so I say take your time and do it once that way you dont have to go back and buy more parts later.

And as far as ball bearing turbos go, they are better but they carry a hefty price tag.
