high whp cars what intake manifold are you using?
Yes, I did a search on this..to no avail. People say the edelbrock victor x reduces power under 6k, the skunk2 is okay if you're building a reasonable powerful street car, but they don't mention it for use in a high powered car, they automatically write off the aebs unit, I have No idea why, and there are so many manifolds out there that I probably don't even know about.. I'm not going to consider the AIR carbon manifold, or the full race unit, too expensive.
I'm also not going to consider the venom/golden eagle, ect, manifold that doesn't have an aerodynamically correct transition from the plenum into the runners, that is just stupid and half assed. Right now it's between the victor x and the aebs manifold..which I especially like because of the price, bigger plenum, and what it did on a friends n/a/ ls/vtec.
So, if you have a high whp car, like over 500whp, what manifold did you end up running?

Id say 75% of the high HP cars on here are running the VictorX.
BUT I think there are a few 5-600whp cars still running stock manifolds.

VictorX seems to be the top choice. if you have money falling out of your butt, the carbon-fiber intakes seem to get good reviews.
i give koodo's to the guys running 5-600 whp on stock intake manifolds (even though they could be getting 6-700 whp )

What I would be really interested in seeing is a dyno test of the victor x against a couple others, namely that weird looking aebs unit, which for some reason, I have faith in.
I used to know a lot more about domestics than imports, and I know edelbrock makes very competitive manifolds for domestics. it's easier than hell to select parts for a domestic, just pick up a magazine and read over their constantly published dyno experiments. Import magazines are pathetic by contrast, they hardly swap out parts and do head to head comparisons..or get technical by any stretch of the word at all. damn posers..

I too am running a VictorX intake. You do notice a bit less on the bottom end, but really it isn't that bad. 5mm, huh? Anyway..That manifold certainly looks unique..how does it perform, compared to the victor? How were all of the dimensions decided on, some type of computer aided design program? I was considering doing this, I like making my own ****, but i don't know how to figure out the dimensions, and it wouldn't be worth doing if I couldn't get it to outperform a regular manifold..

it's BIG.....it's a well made manifold too, seems solid with nice welds, i'm glad it's going on a worthy car, that's for sure
