I currently have a tanabe racing medalion cat back exhaust and a greddy turbo kit on my 00si. would removing the cat make any real difference in my setup? and if I go with a test pipe( I live in miami no emmissions) what size should I go with a 2.5" or 3", I don't plan on changing my exhaust. I am going to be running 8psi on the turbo soon which is why I am asking this. any negative effects to having a test pipe rather than a high flow cat? as always thanks for any helpful replies.

I am no pro, but on my dc2 greddy kit I went with a 2.5 Test pipe and it made the car slightly louder but made a huge difference for air flow.. My old cat was slightlyu clogged from running rich as well..

Another thing about running no cat is that it stinks out the tailpipe. Kinda smells like a muscle car(which has no cats), so if you sit in traffic alot, I don't recommend it.

wit no emissions y are u worry about an aftermarket cat??

Get a test piep, have it made to your exhuast size, and u will feel how much more open your exhaust is.

the problem with thinking about the environment is, everyday I watch soo many people driving cars that are just belching out smoke, so mine releasing a little more crap into the air isn't that bad. I just don't want to do something that will cause any harm to my car or that isn't going to make enough difference to make it worth it. If I get the same increase from a high flow cat as just using a straight pipe then I will go with the cat. but if the pipe is going to be noticeable better then I will just get that. once again I appreciate the reply. and Merry Christmas
