Re: Hiding Bottle Under Seat, need help (tgh99si)
just a standard zex system.
My trunk is pretty much full of a fiberglass trunk install and this would be a great idea for someone not being able to steal it either.
Hmmm, maybe I can make something out of the middle console so I can open it in the coin tray or something lol
I dunno
Im stumped

You could probably "build in" the bottom part of the seat that the nitrous bottle would stick into. Seat won't be as comfortable, but it would be good protection for the bottle. Only problem would be getting the bottle in and out. you'd have to take the seat out each time, which isn't too bad.

Re: Hiding Bottle Under Seat, need help (5thgencivic)
^^ Ya see thats what Im talking about. I think it could be done. I have 2 spare ripped up crx seats as well that I could try it out on.
Is there any downside to this?
How high is the bottle when attached to the tall bracket?
I have a bottle heater. Problem?
Not expecting the kit for a few days or Id be cuttin this **** up right now

I'm not even sure. It might be too tall... The bottle is supposed to be mounted on an angle(right?) so that might not leave much room. The other way might be to use 2 or 3 smaller bottles instead of one big one.

Naw Im gonna stick with the stanrd zex bottle just because I dont any more money to sink into performance really. Need to finish up the bodywork
Oh and like I said, does the bottle heater actually get hot?
Might not be a good combo with the foam under there

The bottle heater does get hot. That may be something to consider.

Re: Hiding Bottle Under Seat, need help (Hoosier Daddy)
put a wool blanket over the bottle warmer. that should hold in planty of heat, stopping it from hitting the foam. for this to work, the whole bottom half of the seat will have to be cut out. then mount a board directly unfer the lining leaving hardly any cushin. or you can go F&F style and try to rig a way to pull the seat bottom on and off to have easy access to the bottle.

Re: Hiding Bottle Under Seat, need help (90_Civic_Hatch)
If I cant hide it under the seat I think I might actually mount the **** behind the center console.
Just popped into my head but I think the rooms there and the valve opening could come out of my spare hole where my eq was. No cops look there.
Would be a bitch to take out and **** but I could cover it good for some stealthiness

Re: Hiding Bottle Under Seat, need help (PIMPIN)
why couldn't you have 2valves like place the bottle where ever in the trunk or someplace accesable yet hidden and run ss lines up near the drivers seat with another valve. when u think u might use it turn on the bottle valve and then you could use the second valve to turn it on or off as needed.
duh .. (just hits me) or a remote bottle opener
or do you not want it there for ease to turn on, but because u dont want it in ur trunk.

keep in mind also.
"most nitrous bottles come with siphon tubes and, in order to maintain proper nitrous pickup, it is important to mount the bottle correctly. It is recommended mounting the bottle at a 15 degree angle with the valve end higher than the bottom of the bottle. The valve end of the bottle should point to the front of the vehicle and the valve **** and label should face straight up."

And if u plan on racing it at the track there has to be a dump that bleeds outside of the car.

Re: Hiding Bottle Under Seat, need help (psileepR)
i've done exactly what you are talking about kinda complicated thought and very uncomfortable for passengers. Anyways you need to measure the bottle at the angle you want, with the seat out, outline the space on the bottom of the seat and measure where you need to cut. Using equal spacers and longer studs can help. after cutting the seat about i have found it to be best to keep the piece of the seat you cut out and then use industrial strength velcro to reattach, this makes for easy operation and concealability. Just my two cents good luck

Re: Hiding Bottle Under Seat, need help (dc r-spec)
take an old toolbox and cut the bottom out of it.
one like this:
put it behind your seat or in the trunk or whatever. you could actually build a false cover and throw some tools on it too if the cop wants to open it or whatevr

Re: Hiding Bottle Under Seat, need help (Accord94DX)
I've seen some put behind the dash. I don't know exactly where but they gutted the inside of the dash and got creative. Pretty damn stealthy cuz they took my money. Another place for me to check from now on.

Re: Hiding Bottle Under Seat, need help (PIMPIN)
just get a big sports bag and cut out the bottom and place it over the bottle that way u can mount it in the trunk.
