If its one of the newer Saab 2.3's, its either a GT15 or GT17 (150hp max). If you had a euro 1.3L d-series that was your daily driver, I'd say jump on it. Otherwise that turbo will only help you from idle to 4000rpm, above it will just suck.

This guy is talking about using the entire motor+turbo, not just the turbo.

And what are you talking about, 150hp max? My friend has a 2.0T Saab that pushes 185hp STOCK, and can do around 250hp with a boost controller and some other mods on the stock turbo.

Sure, this swap is possible. With thousands of dollars and tons of fab work. The mounts would be nearly impossible to retrofit to an EF chassis.

I think you first need to consider WHY you want to do that swap. I'm sure ANY Honda motor will have more power potential than that pile.

Why? Because Saab engine has a lot of Nm and small lag.

I'm sorry, come again..?

"That pile", b234r, b204l, and b235r, Stock, can handle more power than ANY stock Honda motor. Those engines are beasts and Love boost! Any of those engines with a tune, exhaust, turbo, and supporting mods can SAFELY make over 400whp with no hiccups all day long, and for years to come. Do a little Google search, join thesaablink or centralsaab for more examples

P.s. holy thread revival batman!

Don't bump a 7 year old thread with a useless reply...

the amount of fabrication work makes this totally unrealistic. you don't know if the axles would even line up, not to mention the need for totally custom axles in terms of CVS and length, plus the custom fabricated motor mounts, shift linkage, etc.

unless someone has free access to materials and a CNC mill at the very least then this is a pipe dream... probably why this thread went nowhere 7 YEARS AGO.

don't do it again.

Shouldn't this be in the Hybrid or Misc tech forum?
