Default Hey need pro advice about my b18c1

hey I got a 95 b18c1 and I later want to turbo it and build it so I got cp pistons but which ones do I get the flattop or the dipped like type ones? How about valve train and camshaft is the best for turbo setup. I want to make like 380hp. Can I go stock sleeves and stock crank?

Thins is all going to be in

CP pistons 9.0.1 CR (yes flat tops), get some eagle rods or better, stock sleeves, stock crank is the only way to go, good manifold and proper sized turbo, your 300+whp will easily be reached. Hell if you want you could even boost your car the way it is but I wouldn't recommend it. STOCK blocks have seen in excess of 500WHP but I don't recommend it only because its not the most reliable machine.

380 whp? With that I would like to see some aftermarket sleeves, but stock crank should be fine. CP 9:1 pistons are great, and at least get some eagle h beam rods with arp rod bolts. Get some arp head studs while you're at it too.

He doesn't need to sleeve his block for that amount of power. It won't hurt him but he can use that money elsewhere. If he is beating the **** out of the car on a track then yes sleeve it but at 380whp with a good tune he will be fine. if money isn't an issue then yes sleeve it and you can run 600whp later on if you decide to up the boost.

yes I would recommend you get some springs and retainers at least.

For 380whp, GS-R cams are more than fine.

Yes, if you have them HANDY. There are WAY more important items on your list to worry about than just cams and valvetrain. Look to engine managment, clutch, injectors, LSD (and not just an OEM Torsen), as well as your manifold, intercooler, and the turbocharger. Cams, and valvetrain are last. Get the essentials, THEN worry about added luxuries.

theshodan is pointing you in the right direction.. gsr cams are fine just get rods and pistons. if you wanna upgrade your springs and retainers u can but thats choice at 380 hp..and for tunning for a budget build ide use eCtune and make sure you have a good tuner. dont forget fuel pump and injectors also

dude all im going to say is the shodan guy has been around and lol he doesn't ***** around either. if you listen to anyone in this thread take his advice very seriously because he has had time building badass setups and know what to do and what not to do. gsr cams are fine for your power goals. ITR's would be better but the money expended on ITR cams could be used elsewhere. honestly you can go both routes IMO. you can either get the essential internals for the bottom end or if you want to increase the longevity along the road in case you really want to shut some haters up sleeve the block and then take it from there. honestly i would look into a nice suspension too to accommodate the increase in power so your car is not jumping everywhere when you mash the pedal. HT is the ish, but so is the search button

either way you would murder a BMW if you hatchy was boosted with a built b18c1 so i would tell that guy to keep talking and put his money where is mouth is and when your **** is all said and done just take it from him

lol dont forget a badass tune, w/o a tune your car is a good as stock power wise. a good tune will not only get your car running like it should, but also increase its reliability and "drive-ability" in the long run. so be prepared to dish out for dyno time

definatelty listen to the shodan.

380whp on a gsr is no more than an off the shelf turbo kit with a piston and rod motor.

dont skimp on the tuning or fuel system. get it done right by someone in the know and you wont regret it

ITR cams help but they are not always needed, I made big power on GSR's so using ITR's is personal preference, no block sleeving needed for 400whp, just make sure your tuner isnt a bone head.
