somebody wants to trade me a VORTECH V-2 SQ S-TRIM SUPERCHARGER. for my eg shell. the sc has 8,000miles on it. and is supposedly in prestine condition. this is NOT the whole kit, just the sc. i see on vortech website it is $1945 for a brand new one. How much is one with 8,000miles worth? is it any good still? the more you can tell me the better.

You'd be lucky to get 800 bucks for it. You can buy an entire S-trim kit with brackets, pulleys, FMU, and discharge pipes for a mustang for about 1300 used, so good luck selling the head unit for much.

Where did you get that price of $1945 from on tha website? Is that for just tha blower alone? Because for just tha supercharger kit alone w/o tha aftercooler, it's $3,449.95 for satin finish (not polished). Your best bet would be to call Vortech yourself and give them tha details. Don't bother eMailing them. They NEVER eMail back. Good luck!

UPDATE!

I just called Vortech. If you were to buy tha blower alone, you can buy tha base kit which is everything except tha aftercooler (obviously) and tha blower. Tha base kit even comes with tha long shaft needed to run tha blower. That base kit (w/o blower) costs $1679.95 from Vortech in satin finish. If you wanted tha aftercooler, that costs $1850, a fuccin' grip. But it makes a big azz difference. It's what makes that difference between a Camaro Z28 and an SS. Tha SS has an air-to-water intake system. If you do tha math between this and my previous reply, it leaves tha price of tha blower alone at about $1770. So you decided whether it's worth what tha guy's askin'. Anyway, tha info' I gave you is in regards to tha B-series engine. Good luck!

They are the same cars. SS is essentially a Z28 option. They both take the same Vortech kits.
