HELP PLEASE!!! oil feed line getting really hot.
So I just put the car back together. Setup is Peakboost turbo kit on a B20/Vtec motor. When I crank the engine over to start the car the oil feed line running to the turbo gets really hot, without even starting the engine. There is oil in the motor. I really need to get this thing started. I've searched for help on this. Someone please help me. Thanks

the oil feed line is hot even without the engine running?
that is not possible unless your feed line is a stainless braided line that is contacting something electrical.

Re: HELP PLEASE!!! oil feed line getting really hot. (non-VTEC)
it runs over the alternator, no contact being made. i am using brackets with rubber grommets to shield the ss line. the line mounts to the valve cover

I had the exact same problem.. my stainless line was in the same spot, it would touch against the valve cover and get super hot and made a tiny blaxk burn mark on the line. Your block is not grounded properly.
have a ground to the tranny and a ground to the stud coming from the head through the valve cover.. do not a useless ground that is only to the valve cover because it is pointless, the valve cover is seperated by all rubber seals. also I made a ground just above the alternator from the body connected to the intake manifold. That will solve the problem.

I think the same too, you need to run a ground to your block, tranny and valve cover or make sure they exist and are working properly. The SS line will conduct and heat up should it become a ground source which is really not a good thing.
