I Need some help in this case, because I'm new on boosting cars and I don't know about tuning ecus. Few months ago I boosted my 97 Civic Ex, The car runs fine and I traveled couple times about 1800miles. Some times the Idle begins to dancing up and down and i dont know why..... Last week I went to the Dyno to check how much power is producing my car. it's because I ordered my program "Crome" tuned from Miami FL and I live in Bogotá, Colombia. To resume, the bad conditions here: The altitude is over 8600ft above sea level, our poor gas conditions "Max octane that you can find on a gas station is 91 called here EXTRA", the mechanic told me that something wrong with the program, we try 3 times on the dyno first 7psi, second 8psi and last one to 9psi almost 10. with the last test, The AFR was like 11 so for him it's too rich and my engine could be in risk. So I've attached the graphic and i got some questions.

You can note in the image that in the two first runs the RPM went to 7200rpm, so he programmed the dyno to other relation of trasmision and RPM, it was because I forget to say to the mechanic that the program was tuned to 8200rpm. My question is Could it has any influence on the AFR results? because you can see the runs at 7 and 8psi the AFR perhaps is normal.

The AFR is dangerous and could broke my engine?

Could I run my car without problems in 10psi? Eg. Track days or drag races.

If problem exist with AFR, there's other solution different than burn other crome chip?

I'll appreciate if somebody could help me on this. Thank You in advance.

From what I remember a higher AFR was favorable when talking FI. at the higher RPMS the AFR will be higher then down low obv. is that an open loop tune(constant) ?

I think no. but the tune for my car is right or there's something to fix or everything is fine and safe?

10/11 AFR doesn't seem that high in terms of "dangeroursness" do you feel you're running rich ? as a high AFR would cause that. at one point my MAP was reading high(22.xx) at idle and I had a crazy AFR most likely "washed" the cyl's a bit.

No richer then 11:1 I say.
When you start to hit 10s it starts to wash the cylinder walls of fuel.
Also if your tune for7-8psii wouldn't push it to 10psi.

Well, My mechanic told me something like that that's why. Thanks for your help. I thought that I should to put other chip improved.

My car had stock internals, before boost we change only the pistons "vitara" to put low compression and headgasket. The chip was programmed to run from 7 to 10psi max to mantain the engine safe.

Take this to a real tuner and not a "mechanic". If your "mechanic" cannot figure out the tuning issues then go find someone that can.

Also, you're in the wrong forum.

Why I'm in a wrong forum? Like i said I'm new on this and i think that in this community are many people that knows lots about this and can help me some. that's it. Thanks anyways

Be aware of the layout of Honda-Tech before you post. You have a Forced Induction forum and you have an Engine Management and Tuning forum that this was more suited to be posted in.

And actually it sounds as if you're trying to second guess your "mechanic" without having proper knowledge of what it is he is even doing. These are questions you should take up with your "mechanic". If he is not able to tune to your satisfaction or cannot answer your questions then go elsewhere.

You are running a base map and wonder why you are having "running issues"? If the car wasn't tuned in person a MULTIPLE times through E-mail and data logs (with work on your end) you are just pushing your luck. 11.5-12:1 is considered safe. Any richer and you are losing power and wasting fuel; any leaner and you better know what you are doing. How much boost you can run will be determined by your fuel, turbo, and engine condition/components.

If you are stock you will be approaching the Max horsepower/torque of what the engine can withstand safely very soon. Since there isn't a boost plot it doesn't help much, but either way the AFR graph looks like complete crap.
